The National Weather Service says that a tornado hit Santa Cruz County on Saturday at around 1:40 p.m. Several people were injured during the tornado. In a statement, the NWS said: “For Scotts Valley, video evidence and radar signatures are enough to indicate a tornado did transpire this afternoon. Our survey crews are enroute to further examine the data with local officials so in terms of actual tornado rating, we’ll have to wait on that.”
